When the Cape York Agenda was rolled out in 2006, Balkanu is one of the key organisations that strongly support the agenda to

• foster robust partnerships with Cape York communities and corporate business sectors;
• assist with implementation of programs for community development;
• identify needs and specific opportunities beneficial for Cape York communities;
• facilitate project design and implementation;
• engage in initiatives the support business development, creation of jobs that improve the economic and social well-being of Cape York communities;
• help to preserve cultural integrity and traditions.
