Caden Pearson

Caden PearsonCaden Pearson is a Bama Bagarrmuguwarra from the Jeannie River, Kalpowar and Lakefield National Park area. His paternal grandmother is Ivy Pearson (nee Baird) a senior Kuku Yalanji woman from the Buruwarra clan (Buru).

In high school Caden made a documentary about the forced removal of Bama from Hope Valley mission during World War II. The film was a finalist in the 2004 Warner Roadshow Studios 18th Queensland New Filmmakers Awards.

Caden’s second film, Caden Walaa is based on a children’s book of the same title written by Noel Pearson and Karin Calley. In 2005 it won Best Film Senior Category in the Cairns Short Film Festival.
